How to Update Google Chrome

Open your Google Chrome browser. If an update is available for you, you will see a little green arrow at the top of the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. The Chrome menu is the little box made of lines that appears to the right of the search bar at the top of the page.
- If you don't see the arrow, then you already have the most current version of Google Chrome.
- If you do see the arrow, move to the next step.

Click the Chrome menu.

Select "Update Google Chrome." It's the second option from the bottom of the drop-down menu. You will be asked to confirm that you want to update your version of Google Chrome.

Click "Restart." If you don't want to restart right away, then click "Not now." The next time you restart your browser, you'll be able to open the updated version of Google Chrome.

Open your Google Chrome browser.

Click on the wrench icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This is called the Spanner icon.

Click on "About Google Chrome." This will bring you to the About Google Chrome dialog box. If your version needs to be updated, then you will see the words "Installing New Browser."
- If you don't see these words, then you already have the latest version of Google Chrome. If you do see these words, then move on to the next step.

Wait for Google Chrome to update your browser. When it's done, it will show the About Google Chrome dialog box again and will give you the option to "Relaunch Google Chrome."

Click "Relaunch."
